Worthing Heat Network Construction Update – June 2026

From 15 June until 22 July, the Worthing Heat Network team will be carrying out pipe installation works to connect the existing heat network to Splashpoint Leisure Centre.
The first set of works will set up on 15 June along Marine Parade, near Crabshack, where a temporary construction area will be put in place. Within the fenced zone, construction works will be undertaken to connect up to Splashpoint ahead of the summer holidays. Around 30 parking bays on the south side of Marine Parade will be temporarily suspended. Traffic will continue to flow as normal throughout, and we plan to complete these works ahead of the summer school holidays.

To enable the final connection into Splashpoint, works will also take place along the cycle path between the Splashpad and Splashpoint Leisure Centre. From 25 June, the cycle route will be temporarily suspended, with cyclists required to dismount and walk through through the Beach House Grounds.

For pedestrians, a short diversion will be in place between the Splashpad and New Parade Gardens via Beach House Grounds. Access will remain open at all times for East Beach Chalets, K66 Surf Shop, and the Splashpad, which will continue to operate as usual. The beachfront will remain unaffected during the works.

We had originally planned to begin work in Steyne Gardens and on High Street at the same time as these works. However, due to programme pressures and engineering challenges, these works have been temporarily paused. This will allow time for full reinstatement of the gardens ahead of Armed Forces Day and Pride. A revised start date will be shared in due course.

We are working closely with Worthing Borough Council and local partners to carefully plan works around busy periods and minimise impact on residents, businesses, and visitors. If you have accessibility requirements or concerns about accessing your property during these works, please get in touch with the team.
