September Highlights: Hemiko Community Fund in Action

Through our Community Fund, Worthing Heat Network aims to support local projects, empower organisations, and create a positive, lasting impact in Worthing. This past month, our fund has helped support a variety of initiatives: from raising awareness of mental health with West Sussex Mind to providing volunteers for Guildcare’s Summer Showtime.

Here’s a closer look at what we’ve been up to:

🏊‍️ Sponsorship of West Sussex Mind’s September Swim

We were proud to sponsor West Sussex Mind’s September Swim, a virtual challenge that encouraged participants to swim 5km or 10km to raise funds for mental health services. This initiative not only promoted physical activity but also highlighted the importance of mental well-being.

🎬 Support for Guildcare’s Summer Showtime

Our support extended to Guildcare’s Summer Showtime, a series of open-air cinema events held at Beach House Grounds. We provided volunteers to assist with event operations and donated Heras fencing to help the event run smoothly. Summer Showtime brought the community together for films and fun, in support of Guildcare’s inspiring work in the community, and our volunteers were proud to be a part of it.

🎉 Contribution to the Rotary Carnival

We also contributed to the Worthing Rotary Carnival, a long-standing community event that celebrates local culture and raises funds for charity. We were delighted to donate Heras fencing, helping the day run smoothly and creating a safe, well-organised space for everyone to enjoy the festivities.

🎥 Sponsorship of Between the Blue & Green Film Festival

Our commitment to sustainability and well-being was further demonstrated through our sponsorship of the Between the Blue & Green Film Festival. This week-long event focused on environmental, sustainability and wellbeing, featuring films and discussions that inspired positive change within the community.

Looking ahead..

We’re excited to continue supporting local initiatives and making a positive impact in our community. In October, we’re looking forward to backing events like Pink Chai Tea Day and the Glamour Club’s October gathering, helping to bring people together and celebrating the incredible work happening across Worthing.
